Unbeaten Philly fighter Danny Garcia returns home to fight Samuel Vargas at the Liacouras Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a 10-round non-title bout on Spike TV.
Garcia made a deal to face Vargas in a non-title tune up fight so win, lose or draw he can defend his WBC championship against WBA champion Keith Thurman in a unification bout in March.
Garcia is best known for his devastating left hook power, a punch that dropped Amir Khan and Rod Salka, it’s his bread and butter and when it lands its lights out. Vargas a very tough rugged boxer originally from Colombia but now resides in Canada, has only 2 defeats, one to Pablo Munguia and a TKO loss to rising star Errol Spence Jr.
Critics say Vargas is a cherry pick so Garcia looks good, but Vargas believes he can outbox Garcia like Mauricio Herrera and pull off the upset, but will the judges give him the decision in Danny Garcia’s hometown.
