The main event between Serrano and Ramos will be for the women’s unified WBA, WBO, IBF featherweight championship and is a historic moment in boxing history because this will be the first time women will fight 3 minute rounds and scheduled for 12 rounds just like men’s boxing.
Women would have to fight shorter rounds and less rounds for championship bouts and that didn’t sit well with Amanda Serrano so she demanded her promotional team MVP Most Valuable Promotions to make her next title defense twelve, 3 minute rounds.
Amanda Serrano (45-2-1, 30 KOs) holds titles in 7 weight divisions and she fights out of the southpaw stance. She is best known for her historic fight with Katie Taylor which was the first women’s Pay-Per-View main event to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden in New York. Serrano would lose the fight but the fans enjoyed an all out action packed fight of the year bout.
Danila Ramos (12-2, 1 KOs) comes from Brazil and she will have the uphill battle to try and dethrone the favorite in her backyard. Ramos doesn’t have the same experience as Serrano and she only has one KO win on her record so she will try to box and win on points which will be hard against someone as ferocious as Serrano.
