Golden Boy Fight Night heads to the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday night for an all action event featuring Jaime Munguia vs. John Ryder in the super middleweight main event.
Undefeated former junior middleweight world champion Jaime Munguia (42-0, 33 KOs) of Mexico, takes on John “The Gorilla” Ryder (32-6, 18 KOs) of the United Kingdom in a super middleweight main event set for 12-rounds.
Munguia who was trained by hall of fame Mexican boxing legend Erik Morales, is now under the tutelage of American hall of fame trainer Freddie Roach.
Roach is best known for training the Filipino ring legend Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao and his training style consists of offensive minded attacks.
Munguia is one of the most offensive fighters in boxing and will benefit from working under Roach because he can add elements to his offense like feints and angles similar to how he molded Pacquiao from being a left hand dominate fighter to adding a right hook and punch variety to his game.
Ryder is best known for his last bout when he took on Mexican super star Canelo Alvarez to the distance. Ryder who lost the bout by decision was able to hang with Canelo and believes he can hand Munguia his first loss.
Saturday’s card is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Zanfer Boxing and Matchroom Boxing.
Fight Fans can enjoy a Free live stream preliminary show on Golden Boy’s YouTube page before the main DAZN broadcast.
