The Super Six World Boxing Classic continues tonight when Oakland’s own Andre Ward takes on Allan Green in group stage 2 of the super middleweight tournament.
Andre Ward (21-0, 13 KO), is the WBA 168-pound champion, he won the belt in group stage 1 against Dane Mikkel Kessler. His opponent Allan Green (29-1, 20 KO) from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is making his debut in the super middleweight tournament, he replaced Jermain Taylor who was urged to drop out after suffering a knockout loss to King Arthur Abraham in group stage 1.
Ward will make his first title defense tonight against Green at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, giving Ward the hometown crowd to root behind him.
