The fighters for the HBO boxing “Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Juan Diaz 2” Pay-per-view card on Saturday, July 31, 2010, officially made weight Friday.
Marquez and Diaz first fought in 2009, a fight that won fight of the year and was a back and forth war which Juan Manuel Marquez won by knockout.
Juan Manuel Marquez 133 1/2 pounds and Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz weighed in at the 135-pound lightweight limit.
If Marquez beats Diaz again on Saturday, his sights are set on a rubbermatch with the Filipino boxer Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to face Antonio Margarito on November 13 instead of Floyd Mayweather Jr.. Marquez fought Mayweather and lost a decision but still believes that Pacquiao is avoiding a third fight with him.
