Hey Marquez! Why not fight Andre Berto instead of chasing Pacquiao

Juan Manuel Marquez is going around disrespecting Manny Pacquiao and his choice of opponents. This is the wrong tactic to use if you want to secure a fight with the pound-for-pound boxing star (I could be wrong because maybe Marquez beat Shane Mosley and Andre Berto for the Pacquiao sweepstakes).

Marquez has no class, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera all got easy rematches with Manny Pacquiao because they never lambasted his name and cried and cried like a girl over a decision that didn’t go their way.

Do not get me wrong, Juan Manuel Marquez is one of the greatest Mexican warriors in boxing, his recent fights have all been replay worthy and action packed with drama and excitement, except for the fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. his only fight above 135 which he lost in a boring lop sided decision.

Marquez needs to think before he speaks. Maybe he should say to himself chasing Manny never got me the third fight, and insulting him didn’t help either, how about I do a different technique and instead of being boastful, be more gracious and respectful, and say it would be an honor to test my self once again against the best fighter in the world? Also how about not pricing yourself out asking for $5 million instead of $3 million?

Recently, Marquez insulted Manny Pacquiao again on an ESPN Deportes boxing program and said Shane Mosley was on the decline and Manny shouldn’t fight him and fight Andre Berto instead. He also critiqued Andre Berto as an opponent for Pacman, “Berto’s style of boxing is a bit mechanical, slow, and orthodox. Berto would have a difficult time with Pacquiao’s speed,” Marquez said.

How about this, since Manny Pacquiao’s coach Freddie Roach said Manny will not fight below 147 pounds and Marquez wants to prove that he really deserves a shot at Manny, fight Andre Berto at 147 pounds as the co-main event of Pacquiao vs. Mosley to prove you can hang at welterweight.

If Manny Pacquiao fights Shane Mosley and wins, he can fight the winner of Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Andre Berto, and the winner is officially the man at 147-pounds, cleaning out the division.

Marquez vs. Berto is the best fight to be made for both fighters. Marquez is insulting Manny’s wins against bigger men like Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey, so if it is so easy why not fight Berto at 147 for his WBC welterweight title it should be easy since Marquez claims Berto is mechanical and slow.
