Manny Pacquiao Takes On The Dangerous Shane Mosley

The little Filipino that could, that’s how I would describe Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s climb in weight beating down much larger opponents.

He never seizes to amaze me. Challenge after tough challenge. From Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito and now Sugar Shane Mosley, he takes on the best.

Manny Pacquiao is a daredevil who loves a challenge and Mosley at 39-years-old is still a very live dog. As seen in the recent fight with Bernard Hopkins and Jean Pascal, you can’t count the old dog out. A 45-year-old Bernard Hopkins put a masterclass on the 28-year-old Jean Pascal and despite receiving a draw Bernard Hopkins was highly competitive with the youngster and I even had Bernard winning the fight. It goes to show, age doesn’t matter if you have the skill, take care of yourself and don’t do drugs that can harm your body and health.

Many people are complaining again about who Manny Pacquiao is facing, well, at least he is staying busy. I cannot say the same about the self proclaimed greatest ever, Floyd Mayweather Jr, who claims he has the blueprint to whoop Manny’s ass but doesn’t back up his tough talk with action. Mayweather won’t fight so Manny will fight Mosley instead. Floyd won’t step in the ring with Manny until Manny looks vulnerable and a shell of himself. He might challenge Manny after the Shane Mosley fight because I guarantee you this is gonna be an all out war.

Shane Mosley is not a shot fighter by any means. He lives a clean lifestyle and doesn’t do drugs, as far as I know, he just happens to look shot against guys who are either slick, defensive, stick and move or run. I would agree with people if Mosley took a couple of severe knockout loss beatings in a row, but he has never had his ass whooped. He’s been out boxed but never got his ass whooped. Floyd Mayweather out pointed him and Mosley had no marks on his face and even said he was never hurt by Floyd’s punches, he just couldn’t pull the trigger because his neck was aching from Floyd pushing his head down and using dirty tactics. When Mosley fought Sergio Mora, Mora was running all night, Mosley was trying to chase him like cops & robbers. But put Mosley in with a guy who comes forward or isn’t scared to trade he looks sensational like his TKO of Antonio Margarito now that’s what you call an ass whooping.

Mosley just like Manny has trouble with counter punchers, except, Manny will still throw punches up to the 12th round like he did against Juan Manuel Marquez, Mosley on the other hand, doesn’t like to get jabbed or counter punched and stops in his tracks cautious to enter after being countered.

It goes back to the old boxing adage “styles make fights,” Manny and Mosley’s style will make for one exciting fight. They only know how to fight one way and that’s to duke it out and go blow for blow. This fight is gonna be another exciting fight because someone is either going to get knocked out or if it goes the distance both fighters are gonna be bruised and bloodied.

I will not miss this one, Pacquiao vs. Mosley on May 7 could be fight of the year for 2011.
