MOSLEY WOULD WIPE THE FLOOR WITH MARQUEZ

There are actually people claiming that Juan Manuel Marquez is a more viable opponent than Sugar Shane Mosley to fight Manny Pacquiao at Welterweight, AMAZING! In what universe does this make any sense, because in this one, it’s so clear that Marquez will not last 5 rounds against Pacquiao at Welterweight. Face off Marquez against Shane Mosley and Mosley would wipe the floor with him. While Mosley wobbled Floyd Mayweather in their fight, Marquez was too small to be effective against a Welterweight like Mayweather.

Marquez is currently fighting at what weight? BINGO! At the 135 pound division, at Lightweight! Marquez does not even dare to fight anyone at the JUNIOR welterweight division. The paper fisted Juan Diaz wobbled Marquez at 135 pound a few times. What do you think would happen when he gets hit by one of the capable 140 pounders like Amir Khan, Andre Berto (Welterweight), Marcos Maidana, Victor Ortiz, or Tim Bradley at Jr. WW?

And now Marquez wants to jump over the Jr. WW and trade punches with one of the biggest hitters at Welterweight?

Let’s move the discussion two weight classes above Marquez’s Lightweight division. We all saw what Pacquiao did to Antonio Margarito in the 4th round. Margarito, weighing 17 pounds heavier than Manny Pacquiao on fight night, was hurt bad by Pacquiao’s head and body shots. Now think what would Pacquiao’s punches do to the smaller Marquez who is coming up from Lightweight.

What was the physical state of Marquez at the Welterweight division when he fought Floyd Mayweather? Even his own trainer, Nacho Beristain, said that Marquez is too slow and should not be fighting at WW. If you read between the lines of Beristain’s comment leading up the the Marquez/Mayweather fight, Marquez was being sacrificed by Golden Boy Promotions to make Mayweather look good. Beristain was dead on right. Marquez was dominated by Mayweather in all 12 rounds.

Marquez fought only once at Welterweight and got clobbered; Mosley was at WW since 1999, last year he KO’d Margarito to win the WBA Welterweight title. Mosley also held the WBC Welterweight title. And what other fight did Marquez ever fight at WW other than the embarrassing one sided loss to Mayweather.

In Margarito, Pacquiao fought an opponent who was only 3 pounds away from Super Middleweight; yet Pacquiao nearly stopped him in the 4th and 10th rounds. At age 33, Marquez was still fighting at 126 pounds. As of now, Manny is a very powerful Welterweight, Marquez is a Lightweight avoiding to fight anyone at Jr. Welterweight. To avoid a massacre, have Marquez prove he can at least win one round against a legit WW before he gets a shot at the WW Champ.

People are in concern about Mosley getting hurt against Pacquiao. Mosley has been hit by bigger and stronger punchers than Pacquiao. Marquez on the other hand has not fought anyone close that is as big and strong as Mosley’s past opponents. Ricardo Mayorga would swing Marquez from corner to corner like a wet towel, and Miguel Cotto would kill Marquez with body shots. Nope, Marquez does not belong in the Welterweight division. He should remain at LW and stay there for his own good.

Manny Pacquiao is too big, too fast, too strong, and too skilled at WW for Marquez. Boxing doesn’t need to see a massacre. Pacquiao sent a 165 pound Margarito to the hospital with a broken face. A 144 pound Marquez would be hamburger meat at the end of the 3rd round, if he makes it that far. Pacquiao walked through Cotto’s punches, and he took Margarito’s best punches; Pacquiao would laugh at Marquez’s powder puff punches.

If Juan Manuel Marquez finds a way to fulfill his suicide and fight Pacquiao, just remember those who are pushing for it!
