Calling Manny Pacquiao Opponents “Bums” Is Disrespectful

A lot of keyboard warriors like to insult Manny Pacquiao by calling his past opponents “bums” just to discredit the Pacman’s historical accomplishments in the boxing ring.

These so called bums are going in the ring with Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, the baddest man in the welterweight division, and they are brave enough to go to war with him without requesting random Olympic blood tests. Manny’s next opponent is the durable Sugar Shane Mosley, Shane might be older but you can never question his eagerness to take on all challenges. These men have more courage than Floyd Mayweather Jr. who is crying that Manny Pacquiao is cheating by using some power pellet steroids with no proof at all.

Calling Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito,  Ricky Hatton, and Shane Mosley bums is disrespectful not only to these great boxers but to the sport of boxing. They had the courage and bravery to step into the boxing ring against the Tasmanian Devil, Manny Pacquiao, and not one of them laid down without a fight.

I would bet that anyone of those guys would give any other top welterweight fighter a tough fight and possibly beat them. If Sugar Shane Mosley was a washed up bum, Golden Boy Promotions would have put him in with Juan Manuel Marquez, but they knew that Mosley would beat Marquez spoiling their plans of a chance to get a big money fight for Marquez with Manny Pacquiao. Juan Manuel already ruined his shot by talking trash and pricing himself out of the Pacman sweepstakes.

Have these Pacquiao haters ever thought that maybe Manny Pacquiao just makes these fighters look washed up because he is just that good? Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey and Antonio Margarito all said before their fights with Manny Pacquiao that they trained hard, and are in the best shape of their lives. As far as I know, bums are lazy, don’t train hard  and are never in shape.
