SLICK AFRICAN AMERICAN BOXERS ARE BORING TO ME

Slick African American fighters like Timothy Bradley vs. Devon Alexander? No thanks! No wonder these two could not draw in the crowd. Who would want to pay $50 dollars to watch Devon Alexander or Timothy Bradley. Answer, no one! Watching these two guys fight was a pain, the Light Welterweight Division are now established:

1. Amir Khan
2. Marcos Maidana
3. Timothy Bradley
4. Devon Alexander

In my book, Khan has already taken on and beaten his toughest opponent at 140, Marcos Maidana. Anyone else at 140 would be much easier for Khan than Maidana. I didn’t see Bradley show any sign that he could launch a better attack than Maidana did against Khan. And of course Bradley does not have the punching power of Maidana.

Maidana landed his best punches against Khan and could not take him out. Bradley, who has only a 39% knockout ratio in his fights, will not be able to hurt Khan like Maidana did. I see Khan beating Bradley quite handily if they fought. Alexanders reach and movement was not impressive at all, yet he kept Bradley befuddled. Khans reach, speed, and reach advantage would give Bradley all kinds of problems.

So where are those people claiming that Alexander and Bradley could beat Manny Pacquiao now? I even saw someone wrote on this site by Pierre Grimm “Manny Pacquiao fighting Mosley should lower him on the pound-for-pound list” that the winner of the Alexander/Bradley fight should be crowned as the P4P king. Anyone who saw the fight on HBO between these two should be able to conclude that Pacquiao would wipe the floor with any of them. And if they don’t know, then they should know.

So please, no more talk about any slick African American fighter being able to give Manny a run for his money. Simply put, even the best slick African American fighter don’t want any part of Pacquiao. The Alexander/Bradley fight showed me why Manny Pacquiao makes the big bucks. BOOOORING!! No one carries a fight like Pacquiao, he is the most entertaining fighter on the planet.

Pacquiao is so good at what he does that he intentionally provides scoring opportunities for his opponents to make the fight more entertaining. In the Antonio Margarito fight, Pacquiao could have hit and move and avoid getting hit for 12 rounds. But he chose to entertain the fans instead, same with the Joshua Clottey and Miguel Cotto fights. Floyd Mayweather may be the best BOXER of his era, but Pacquiao is the best FIGHTER today and probably ever.

Muhammad Ali, Henry Armstrong, and Sugar Ray Robinson didn’t do what Manny Pacquiao has done. Ali is a heavyweight, he never had to contend with dieting to keep his weight down for a fight. Armstrong fought guys when the weigh in were held on the same day as the fight; Pacquiao has 8 weight division titles. Robinson could not overcome a 13 and half pound disadvantage against Joey Maxim, he got KO’d in the 14th round.

Today’s athletes are faster, stronger, quicker, jumps higher, punch harder, and overall better trained. The FACT that Olympic records are being broken is proof that current athletes are better than their predecessors.
