UNDEFEATED HEAVYWEIGHT THOMPSON, PLAYBOY HIGHLIGHT BATTLE AT THE BOAT 81 ON SATURDAY

May 31, 2011 By NB News Leave a Comment

TACOMA, Wash. – Undefeated heavyweight “Vicious” Vincent Thompson will be joined by Playboy Playmates Bridget Marquardt, Stacy Fuson, Hiromi Oshima and Pilar Lastra at Battle at the Boat 82: Fight Night to the Playboy Mansion Saturday at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma.

Highlighting the boxing card will be rising star Thompson, one of the top professional heavyweight prospects in the world.

Thompson, a resident of Federal Way, puts his unbeaten 7-0 record on the line against Kelsey Arnold, who is coming off a loss to undefeated Andy Ruiz, Jr., a top ranking heavyweight in Mexico.

Thompson registered his second career knockout in his last fight on March 19 when he stopped Ryan Shay in the second round.

“Vincent has all the tools to be a dominating heavyweight in this sport,” said promoter Brian Halquist. “His speed and power was on full display in his last bout. He has improved dramatically every time he steps inside the ring. The sky really is the limit for him.”

Thompson’s bout is one of four heavyweight contests on the card. Jonte Willis (7-0-1, 3 KOs) squares off against Shane Andreesen (10-3-0, 6 KOs) in another highly-anticipated heavyweight clash.

In addition to the Northwest’s best professional boxing, Playboy will also be on hand as Marquardt from TV’s The Girls Next Door, the Playboy Playmates, including Fuson and Oshima, and Playboy Radio host Lastra will also be on hand.

“It’s going to be a very interactive show where boxing fans will have the chance get up close and personal with the Playmates, who will be available for pictures before and after the event,” Halquist said.

The evening will also feature a ring card girl contest with the winner receiving a trip to the world famous Playboy Mansion.

Prior to the event a VIP party will take place where fans get to interact with the Playboy Playmates, ring card girl contestants, DJ D-Wreck and Playboy Radio host Brian Olea. Thompson and Willis will also be in attendance at the VIP party, which will feature free food and drink specials.

First fight on the card will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35, $55 and $100 and are available at the Emerald Queen Casino box office 1-888-831-7655 and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
