Long Island KO Artist Joe “The Irish Bomber” Smith to Continued His Return in New Legend / Old World Card Main Event April 21st!

Long Island KO artist light heavyweight Joe “The Irish Bomber” Smith Jr. continues his knockout return in the main event of a New Legend and Old World Boxing this Saturday April 21st at the Cordon Bleu located at 96-01 Jamaica Avenue, Woodhaven, NY.

Twenty one year old Joe Smith Jr. a two time New York Gold Glove winner turned pro October 2009 winning his first six by stoppage. Smith’s KO run came to an abrupt stop August 2010 when after controlling the opening three and half minutes of his seventh pro fight at Aviator Sports complex in Brooklyn “The Irish Bomber” suffered what was later diagnosed with multiple fractures in his jaw when he was clipped with a clean hook from the heavy handed Eddie “Thunder” Caminero. The rough and ready Smith battled on finally succumbing to the pain in a clinch with two seconds to go in the fourth round many ringside had Smith ahead or even at the time of the stoppage.

Smith underwent surgery immediately after the fight leading to an extended period out of the gym and on a liquid diet. After all the appropriate medical testing “The Irish Bomber” originally returned to action and his heavy handed ways this past July stopping Santos Martinez with a ripping body shot. In his last outing just two weeks ago “The Bomber” rebuilding his KO streak stopped Dennis Ogboo in two on the undercard of Hank Lundy / Dannie Williams undercard.

Smith, 8-1, 8Ko’s trained by the “Fighting Capobianco’s Phil and Gerry will headline the New Legend / Old World Boxing card this Saturday April 21st in what is expected to be an action packed card when he takes on Puerto Rico’s Amador Acevedo, 3-9-1, 3Ko’s who has battled the likes of Lennox Allen, Jason Escalera and New Legend’s own .

Co-featured Saturday will be Brooklyn’s unbeaten light middleweight, Frank Galarza, 5-0, 2Ko’s facing Puerto Rican veteran Jose Ramon Sanchez, 3-10-1, 1Ko and Brooklyn unbeaten super featherweight Rafael Vazquez 6-0, 4Ko’s battling Puerto Rico’s Jesus Bayron 5-4, Ko’s.

Rounding out the New Legend and Old World Boxing card is Brooklyn super featherweight Angel Garcia, 2-0, 2Ko’s vs Rafael Gonzalez 0-2, New York lightweight Edward “Tyson” Valdez 7-8-2, 5Ko’s vs Denver, Colorado’s Esteban “Junglehead” Nichol 3-4, 1Ko, New York heavyweight Jarrell Miller 2-0, 2Ko’s vs Winchester, Virginia Donnie Crawford 1-4-1, 1Ko, Brooklyn light welterweight William Shammar Whitt 1-0 vs Puerto Rico Jasey Montalvo 0-3, Brooklyn super bantamweight Robert “Machete” Semidei 3-0 vs Vineland, New Jersey’s Joshua Arocho 1-5-1, 1Ko and Queens New York cruiserweight Armin “The Bosnian Prince” Mrkanovic 2-1, 1Ko against an opponent to be named.
